Tomodachi Life Island Planner Grid
Plan your Living the Dream island online on a simple 12×8 grid. Each of the 96 cells can hold a house, shop, café, park, fountain, tree, sign or beach marker.
How the 12×8 island layout grid works
The planner divides your draft into 12 columns and 8 rows, giving you 96 planning cells. It is a planning aid rather than a one-to-one map of the game's internal coordinates: use cells to compare zones and spacing, then reproduce the arrangement in-game as buildings unlock.
12 columns
Enough horizontal space to separate residential, shopping and recreation zones without planning pixel-perfect coordinates.
8 rows
Use the lower rows for beach and recreation markers, while keeping expansion space around houses and services.

A practical way to divide the grid
- Reserve a residential block. Start with roughly two columns by four rows and leave adjacent cells free for future homes.
- Build a compact commercial centre. Keep shops and the café near one another so the layout is easy to scan.
- Protect the coast. Mark beach and recreation cells before filling the remaining gaps.
- Keep an expansion buffer. Four to six empty cells prevent later unlocks from breaking the whole plan.
