Tomodachi Life island layout planner
Drag houses, shops, parks and landmarks onto a grid that mirrors your real Tomodachi Life island. Iterate freely, undo, share with friends, then commit to the layout in-game once you're sure.
Drag-and-drop your island layout
Pick a building from the toolbar, then tap any cell to place it. Tap a filled cell with the same building selected to remove it.
How to plan a Tomodachi Life island layout
The in-game island has limited buildable space that grows as you progress. Plan your layout before placing buildings to avoid the most common Tomodachi Life regret: building a house in the spot where the second shop was meant to go.
1 · Cluster by use
Keep Mii homes close together so visiting friends across the island doesn't drain the day. Group shops near a central plaza so daily shopping rounds are quick. Put fountains, parks and decorative trees as visual breaks between clusters.
2 · Save the coast
Beach access is limited — reserve at least one coastal row for the beach, signs and decorative landmarks. Houses placed directly on the beach lose the postcard view that makes the island feel like a vacation.
3 · Leave gaps for expansion
Don't fill every cell. As you add Miis, you'll want to expand your housing area without bulldozing existing buildings. Reserve at least 4–6 cells in a corner you can grow into.
4 · Share before committing
Use the Copy share link button above to send your plan to a friend. Two opinions on island layouts usually beat one. The link encodes your layout in the URL — no account, no login required to view.
How this connects to your in-game island
The planner is a planning tool, not a synced view. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has no third-party data export, so your in-game layout and this layout exist independently. Use this as your blueprint, then place buildings in-game by following the plan you saved here.
